The two presidents also visited the Ocean Science Center Mindelo (OSCM), which is operated by the German GEOMAR Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research Kiel together with the Cape Verdean Instituto do Mar, and inaugurated a new TROPOS measuring station on the roof for remote sensing of the atmosphere.
