Prof. Matsumoto attended an international workshop on brain evoked potentials in June 2022 along with other participants including Professor SASAYAMA Takashi, Division of Neurosurgery, Kobe University. Prof. Sasayama is the co-principal investigator of the Kobe University–funded project on brain mapping. They observed how surgeons at Montpellier University Hospital, France, conducted awake surgery using intraoperative functional mapping of the white matter. Kobe University and Montpellier University have agreed to collaborate on joint research on functional brain mapping.
