Mimi Lan, a PhD candidate in Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering, is leading the testing and evaluation of a handheld device to collect and test urine inflight. The device is based on Buckey's research of when calcium content is highest during the day, with the aim of making the test once-daily.
