Hubble snapshot of galaxy with rogue black hole (IMAGE)
Caption
This Hubble Space Telescope image, taken on Jan. 16, 2025, helped UC Berkeley researchers pinpoint the location of the TDE — about 2,600 light years from the host galaxy’s core, where an even more massive active black resides. Hubble confirmed independent observations made with NASA’s Chandra X-ray observatory.
