CABBI Postdoc Zhengyi Zhang (left) and Conversion Theme Leader Huimin Zhao (right) work in their lab at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Using photocatalysis, their research team developed a more cost-effective, eco-friendly way to build chiral ketones, valuable chemicals used in agrochemicals, medicines, and other products.
