A fluorescence microscopy image of SPRTN enzymes (red) clustered on DNA (blue) in the nucleus of a human cancer cell. The researchers, in a previous study, induced DNA damage in cells with formaldehyde and discovered that SPRTN was recruited to the damaged DNA sites for repair.
