Southwest Research Institute’s Dr. Andrés Muñoz-Jaramillo led science team efforts to validate Surya, a first-of-its-kind heliophysics foundation AI model using a wide range of scientific downstream applications. The goal is to provide the heliophysics community with a powerful tool enhancing the ability to predict and understand complex solar phenomena that impact technological society and life on Earth. The model uses ground-truth SDO data to forecast solar evolution.
