Walking soft robot legs (IMAGE)

Like how toy fidget poppers have domes that rest in one of two stable states, Purdue University researchers have placed bistable and metastable domes at 90-degree angles to each other in this soft robot's legs. These domes allow a walking motion to be pre-programmed into the legs' physical geometry.
