Autophagy: Cancer Cells’ Survival Mechanism (IMAGE)
Caption
An illustration of autophagy, a recycling process where cells break down and reuse internal components. While normally protective, in cancer this process is hijacked to help tumor cells survive stress and resist chemotherapy. The study shows that the RNA molecule EUDAL promotes autophagy in oral cancer by keeping EGFR active under low-oxygen conditions.
