Visitors to The Wertheim UF Scripps Institute in Jupiter, Florida, pass a sculpture by Julian Voss-Andreae titled, “Angel of the West.” It's an homage to the scientific contributions of institute founder, Dr. Richard Lerner, M.D., that was commissioned by his colleague, Dr. Charles Weissmann, M.D., Ph.D. Weissmann, not only a scientist, but an avid art collector, died on Dec. 11, 2025.
