The group led by Professor Dr Lena Daumann has conducted research into two very different aspects of rare earth elements. In this illustration, the element symbols form the frame. The left-hand section shows the newly developed peptides that can bind REE very effectively. The right-hand section symbolises the question of what role REE may have played in the origin of life.
