Sphagnum mosses can proliferate rapidly when growth conditions are optimal after restoration. This moss growth resulted from branching of a single moss shoot within one season. The project Growth from moss North Karelia in the University of Eastern Finland explores the potential of Sphagnum cultivation for applications in restoration and commercial production (https://sites.uef.fi/kasvuasammalesta/?lang=en).
