Through a newly developed technique, Kobe University biologist ISHIZAKI Kimitsune and his team were able to convert beta rays emitted from radioactive phosphorus isotypes to visible light to capture the movement of phosphorus within liverwort as it traveled from the rhizoids through to the leaves.
