Rational synthesis of Cu-Ni dual-atom catalysts for optimized thermochemical CO2 reduction (IMAGE)
Caption
Cu and Ni atoms are atomically dispersed in a nitrogen-doped carbon framework to form paired active sites. Colloidal silica templating and NaOH etching generate a porous Cu–Ni dual-atom catalyst (CuNi-DAC) with a well-defined N2Cu-N2-NiN2 structure. In the reverse water-gas shift reaction, CuNi-DAC achieves near-equilibrium CO2 conversion with nearly 100% CO selectivity and remains stable up to 600 °C over repeated cycles.
