Bat munching on meal worm (VIDEO)
Caption
Bats have evolved to eat all kinds of diets including fruit, fish, insects, and blood. Bats serve an important ecosystem function as voracious insect predators, which can reduce the use of pesticides in communities. This video is of a baby big brown bat eating meal worms at a rehabiliation site in Vermont. It was not one of the species used in the study.
