Matthijs Wibier, an assistant professor of Classics at the University of Cincinnati, worked with the Penn Museum to piece together 50 fragments of animal skin to discover they were a double-sided page of an ancient Roman legal text dating back to the fourth century. The untranslated fragments have been part of the museum's collection since 1911.
