Vagus nerve stimulation produces a biphasic vascular response in the brain. A single train of vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) caused local blood volume near the cerebellar flocculus to decrease briefly and then increase. Two complementary fluorescence signals confirmed this characteristic vascular response.
