A closeup of the back of a package of tablets purchased in early 2026 in a Michigan vape shop, showing that it contained both 7-OH and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl. Under the August 26, 2026 action by the federal government, this product would not be legal to sell in any state because of the pseudoindoxyl content; some states or municipaitiies have also banned or restricted the sale of products containing 7-OH, while the federal government has proposed listing it on Schedule I but as of August 26 has extended a public comment period to Sept. 10.
