A team of researchers from the School of Pharmacy and the Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas at El Paso has published a study that found nicotine vaping during adolescence may leave a lasting imprint on the brain’s reward system, driving nicotine-seeking behavior well into adulthood. The team included (from left to right): Miguel Urbina, specialist with the Laboratory Animal Resource Center; Liliana Maynez-Anchondo, a doctoral student in the Department of Psychology; Ian Mendez, Ph.D., associate professor of pharmacy and chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences; and Laura O'Dell, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Psychology.
