Schematic diagram of beam-stop-free small-angle X-ray scattering. The “m” listed to the left of the detected signal represents the diffraction order. The attenuation filter used in this experiment consists of triangular metal foils of uniform thickness stacked so that the thickness increases toward the center. By using triangular filters, it is possible to finely adjust the attenuation region depending on the stacking position.
