SDSU Sheep Shearing Research (IMAGE)
Caption
SDSU’s Manuel Vasquez-Hidalgo and members of his lab used ultrasounds to measure collect data from days 50-110 of pregnancy for ewes that had been sheared at 50 days and ewes that hadn’t been sheared at all. Their results showed an increase in birth weight for lambs whose mothers had been shorn at day 50 and experienced limited cold stress while pregnant.
