Effelsberg Telescope (IMAGE)
Caption
An ear in space: this is the 100-m Effelsberg radio telescope during regular observations of the galactic center region for unidentified pulsars. The galactic center is in the Sagittarius constellation, which is extremely close to the horizon in the southern direction, and is only visible for approximately two hours every day.
