Neuropilin-1 is a protein receptor found on many different cell in the human body, from those of the immune system to the nervous system and bones. Their importance in cell growth means they can be co-opted by cancer cells for proliferation and metastasis. Thus, targeting neuropilin-1 is a feasible way of developing effective cancer therapies.
