(L-R) Dr. Hemu Xinya and Dr. Abbas El Sahili, NTU research fellows from the School of Biological Sciences, are part of the NTU team that created the lab-grown recombinant peptide ligase. Using the machine pictured, they have found that the NTU-created recombinant enzyme is 3,000 times more efficient than three other known types of ligases.
