Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology have used advanced electron microscopes and computer simulations to study how catalytic processes are affected by changes in the atomic distances in nanoparticles. The image illustrates catalytic nanoparticles (blue-yellow) reacting with molecules from exhaust fumes (red/black), and being analysed by means of an electron beam (green).
