The Atmospheric Infrared Sounder instrument on NASA's Aqua satellite captured an infrared image of Tropical Storm 02W on March 23 at 0453 UTC (12:53 a.m. EDT) far to the east of the Philippines (left). There was still some strong convection (purple) near the storm's center.
