A Protein Kinase Phosphorylates a Target Protein (VIDEO)
Caption
An adenosine triphosphate (ATP) molecule is first shown, which then interacts with a protein kinase shown in yellow, which plucks off a phosphate group from the ATP leaving and adenosine diphosphate remnant, and then the kinase later transfers the phosphate on to another substrate protein shown in green. This is the basic biochemical reaction catalyzed by all protein kinases.
