Absorption Contrast X-ray Imaging (IMAGE)

This image shows a non-invasive 'slice' of rodent heart tissue made using traditional absorption contrast X-ray imaging to be compared with the data obtained with phase-contrast imaging which is a technique for scanning the volumes of soft tissue like tumors or internal organs, but with much greater contrast than conventional CT scans (see images #1 and #2).
