On May 16 (left) RapidScat showed strongest winds (red) south and east of the center as high as 35 m/s/78.2 mph/126 kph). On May 18 (right) strongest winds were over 45 m/s/100.7 mph/162 kph in the northern and eastern quadrants of the storm.
