Gary Braun (left) and Alessia Pallaoro in front of the LabAramis Raman microscope. They used this laser spectroscopy equipment to obtain data from silver nanoparticles (biotags) attached to human cells. The nanoparticles are used to determine whether the cells are cancerous or not.
