A microscope reveals skeletal magnetite crystals that resemble a mythical griffin in a 1.3 billion year old Martian meteorite, MIL 90032. Researchers studied Mars' past atmosphere by analyzing sulfur isotopic ratios in 40 meteorites that fell to Earth from Mars.
