Caption
Students in Boca Raton Community High School's A-Level Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Biology class prepped the samples they had collected from the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, a 226-square mile area of the northern Everglades in Palm Beach County, to send to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Joint Genome Institute (JGI). The image complements a JGI release about the pilot research project between JGI and the Boca Raton Community High School biology class that has culminated in a data report published in Environmental Microbiome.
