Response to Damage from a Heart Attack in the Mouse Border Zone (IMAGE)
Caption
Mouse heart tissue from the border zone of the heart after a heart attack (left) and an undamaged heart (right). In the border zone of the damaged heart, the protein c-Jun (green) moves to the nucleus to do its job as a transcription factor, suggesting that this protein is involved in the response to a heart attack.
