Singapore's total population is projected to grow from 5.4 million in 2013 to 6.5 million by 2020, at a CAGR of 2.6 percent. Tighter restrictions on the entry of foreign workers, fewer foreigners being granted Permanent Resident status, and a low fertility rate among Singaporeans are critical factors contributing to the slow population growth.
