Movement of Nucleosomes, Short Lengths of DNA Wrapped around Barrel-Shaped Proteins (IMAGE)
Caption
Each line shows the trajectory of a single nucleosome during approximately one second. Mathematical analysis of microscopy data is allowing researchers to understand how DNA is organized inside human cells. These results were part of an interdisciplinary project by researchers at Hiroshima University, the National Institute of Genetics (Japan), Keio University, and Sokendai Graduate University for Advanced Studies.
