Expression Pattern of Mature Swarm Colonies (IMAGE)
Caption
Distinct expression pattern of mature swarm colonies. Microscopic images of cells collected from the center and periphery of mature Vibrio parahaemolyticus swarm colonies. Cells within a swarm-colony are organized in zones of distinct differentiation states. The colour green indicates the activity of vp1343, which is a gene mainly produced in cells from the center. The colour red indicates the activity of the lateral flagella subnunit gene -- lafA, which is a gene mainly produced in cells from the periphery.
