Skyrmionen sind Nano-Strukturen: winzige Wirbel in der magnetischen Ausrichtung der Atome. Nun haben PSI-Forschende erstmals sogenannte antiferromagnetische Skyrmionen erschaffen. Darin sind entscheidende Spins gegenläufig ausgerichtet. Hier eine künstlerische Darstellung dieses Zustands.
