The AIRS NASA's Aqua satellite captured this infrared image of Hurricane Emilia on July 12, 2012 at 0929 UTC / 5:29 am EDT. The purple area shows strong thunderstorms and cold cloud tops, and the yellow circle in the middle is the eye of the hurricane.
