UCSD nanoengineering professor Gaurav Arya has developed new computational models of chromatin -- a key player in DNA regulation -- that suggests that its structure is heteromorphic (bottom graphic) from anaylsis of the interaction pattern between nucleosomes in the fiber (top graphic).
