The green skink (Prasinohaema virens) is another green-blooded lizard from the lowlands of Papua New Guinea. This is the only species that lays eggs, all other green-blooded species give birth to live young. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 16 May 2018, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by Z.B. Rodriguez at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and colleagues was titled, "Multiple origins of green blood in New Guinea lizards."
