Cottonwoods and Willows, Colorado River Delta (IMAGE)
Caption
The light green plants that line the channel are cottonwood and willow seedlings that have sprouted since the pulse flow of water to the Colorado River Delta in spring 2014. The photo was taken four months after the pulse flow ended. This site, 88 km below Morelos Dam, was cleared of non-native vegetation and graded to promote river flow by the Sonoran Institute before the start of the pulse flow.
