Excavations at Sussita (1 of 2) (IMAGE) University of Haifa Caption The tenth excavation season at Sussita, which is located on the mountaintop at an altitude of 350 m. above Lake Kinneret and in the area of the Sussita National Park, yielded many spectacular findings. The University of Haifa researchers discovered three clay figurines of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, dated 1,500 years back. Also revealed were an odeion and a basilica.
