A "tricorder" developed by a team of researchers from Qualcomm Institute and UC San Diego School of Medicine features a simple test strip to check drinking water for pollution and an electronic device to check individual vital signs. The results are automatically collected in the cloud and analyzed to map environmental pollution or public health concerns.
