Zebrafish Brain Following Overexpression of Nmu, a Gene Shown to Help Regulate Sleep (IMAGE)
Caption
This image shows a larval zebrafish brain following overexpression of Nmu in which neurons that express the neuropeptide CRH are labeled green and neurons that express cfos, a marker of neuronal activity, are labeled magenta. The image shows that overexpression of Nmu activates CRH expressing neurons in the brainstem, but not in the hypothalamus.
