PNNL scientist Xiao-Ying Yu holds a device that allows instruments like scanning electron microscopes to--for the first time -- analyze liquid samples in real time and a realistic environment--enabling researchers to gain new insights about nanoparticles, bacteria, cells, batteries and more. PNNL received an award from the Federal Laboratory Consortium for working with a commercial partner to transfer this technology to market.
