Riboswitch 2

In experiments at SLAC's Linac Coherent Light Source, riboswitch crystals and adenine molecules were pumped into a mixing chamber, where they were allowed to interact for carefully timed intervals before being injected into the path of the X-ray laser beam. The X-rays bounced off the riboswitch molecules and into a detector, recording any changes in riboswitch structure that took place.
