Microscopic Measurements in 3 Dimensions (6 of 7) (VIDEO)
Caption
This is an animation a 3-D plasmon ruler with scaffold: Three-dimensional plasmon ruler. Four plasmonic rods are attached to a DNA origami cube, which works as a scaffold. The bioeneities link the fifth plasmonic rod and integrate it into the ruler system. The plasmonic assembly could act us a transducer, which delivers the information of the structural dynamics of the bio-entities optically. This video relates to an article that appeared in the June 17, 2011, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by N. Liu at University of California, Berkeley in Berkeley, Calif., and colleagues was titled, "Three-Dimensional Plasmon Rulers."
