This is the winning entry in the Research as Art Awards, 2018. By Frances Ratcliffe, Bluefish Project, Swansea University. Microscope image of crab blood parasites: Frances says 'I was struck by the beauty of the crystalline blood cells and jewel-like parasites, and also by Andrew Rowley's enthusiasm for explaining almost a hundred photos to me despite the fact I'm not his student and I am not required to learn about this area.'
