NTU Singapore scientists design 'smart' device to harvest sunlight

The acrylic ball (right) of the device acts as the solar concentrator, enabling sunlight to form a sharp focus. The focused sunlight is then collected into one end of a fibre cable (left) and emitted via another end directly.
