Workflow Diattenuation Imaging

This is how the new imaging method Diattenuation Imaging works (click on the image to enlarge): 3D-PLI (left) reveals the direction of the nerve fibers. A diattenuation measurement (right) reveals the direction of polarization for which a maximum amount of light passes through the brain section. Regions for which this polarization direction runs parallel (or perpendicular) to the fibre direction are marked in green (or magenta).
